Skincare Recommendations For People Too Lazy For Skincare

Have you ever slept in mascara simply because the bathroom was too far away?

I can deeply empathize with this situation because I too am a lazy human being.

Despite my procrastination, I have found that finding the right set of products can motivate you to stay on top of your routine because you’ll be able to see the difference it makes.

My skin is normal to dry. So while I do not have acne, I can get dry patches that turn dark. This occurs mostly in the winter, so having a routine that includes a lot of moisture is very important for my skin.

So here are my skincare recommendations for people too lazy for skincare:

Cleansers.

Shea Moisture African Black Soap Toner

I bought this toner mostly because the black packaging caught my eye and tumeric is currently a trendy skin care ingredient. I usually like to use strong astringents because it feels like I’m really getting the dirt out of my pores. However I have noticed that the older I’m getting the more prone I am to experiencing dry skin. I make sure to hydrate more when I make the time to drink more than 4 glasses of water a day, but I needed to find an effective yet gentle toner. This ‘Problem Skin’ toner is gentile enough for all skin types and it also works great as a makeup primer!

LUSH – Angels on Bare Skin

LUSH is known for making products with natural ingredients (And overly aggressive employees) but it is definitely a brand where it helps to read the instructions to optimize your use. LUSH products in general aren’t as simple as just putting it on your face and their facial cleanser is no different. Angels on Bare Skin is no different.

It has a clay like consistency and contains dried lavender crumbles. Not quite sure what that does but it smells heavenly. All you have to do is dig out a small amount and mix with water in the palm of your hand, then apply to your face in a circular motion.

Rinse with water and you’ll immediately notice that your skin is softer. This cleanser is not drying at all and has moisturizing properties, so it’s perfect to use after a toner.

Moisturizers.

Rosewater | Glycerine

A quick way to go from broke millennial to Dominique Deveraux is as simple as a spritz of rosewater/glycerin mix, or ‘rosé glizzay’ as I like to call it.

It’s a cooling sensation that can calm inflammation and hydrate. I always use it before a long flight or if I’m too stoned to deal with New York City bullshit, but still gotta run errands.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera Gel is a great natural moisturizer that can help with general skin irritation and dryness. I also love putting A.V.G in a spray bottle with filtered water, which makes for the best leave in conditioner ever!

Bonus points for purchasing an Aloe Vera Plant and sourcing your own gel.

Relaxation.

Peach & Lily Original Glow Sheet Mask

Peach & Lily is a K-beauty brand that has recently exploded onto the skincare scene and can now be found in drugstore/pharmacies nationwide. Their original face mask formula give the plumpness and glow of a toddler and feels so cool and relaxing against my face.

Something about being stoned, with a rush of coldness to the face that makes me feel like a luxurious bitch with not a care in the world!
